So it's official! The great state of California has given Jeremiah and I the permission to get married! We have our marriage license!!

It was kind of a hassle, though. I applied online a few weeks ago through the county website. The next day Jeremiah and I went after work to pay and pick it up. Apparently we got in line 10 minutes too late so they said we had to come back! That meant we had to wait another 2 weeks for Jeremiah's next Friday off so we could be there in time. So, yesterday I got off work a bit early and we went down to the county recorder's office. We stood in line, got all the way up to the window and the lady couldn't find our online application in her system! Apparently they get erased every 2 weeks. So we had to go fill out another application and get back in line. Finally we get up to the window, turn in the application and pay. Once it was filed we had to wait over an hour for it to be ready. So we left and had some lunch, came back, got BACK in line and had to wait forrrrrever! FINALLY we got up to the window, the lady had us check the document to make sure there were no errors and we each signed it. Then she had us hold up our right hand and she made us swear that everything was true and blah blah blah. After that she presented us with our marriage license, told us what to do with it after the wedding and said "Congratulations!" THE END!!! =) =)

3 weeks and 4 days to go!

Hello!
It's been a while since I've last written, but so much has been going on! I had my bridal shower on July 26th and it was so much fun! It was a great turnout and we had a fabulous time! My Matron of honor- Bonnie Ferrell and Maid of honor- Patrice Shapiro, along with Patrice's two sisters- Rebecca Humphreys and Corryne Lee (basically my sisters!) planned the whole thing and did such an outstanding job. The food was so yummy, the games were creative and fun and the decorations were adorable! I loved it and totally felt like the bride! It was great =)

We ordered the cake this past Saturday. It was really fun tasting all the samples and designing it ourselves. We're just hoping it turns out as good in reality as it seems in our heads! We'll find out soon! Haha.

We also went shopping this past weekend for all of the move-in essentials. The cleaning producs, toilet paper, paper towels, air fresheners, matches, hand soaps, ziplock bags, bug spray, blah blah blah blah blah!! I couldn't believe that we ended up with 2 carts full of stuff!! And we haven't even started stocking up on food yet! I didn't realize how many things are essential in a home. It's crazy! But we had alot of fun and we got even more excited to move Jer in to the apartment on August 15th.

Carmen (from the bridal shop where I bought my wedding dress) called today... My dress has arrived!!! I can't even believe it! I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon for my first fitting. I'm sooooo ecstatic! I feel like I've been waiting forever to get my dress and it's finally here!! My wedding day attire is now complete. I have my undergarments, shoes, jewelry, the beautiful veil that Jeremiah's mom made for me and now my dress. It's really starting to sink in that I'm going to have the wedding I've always dreamed of and that it's my turn to be the bride! Yay!!

Anyways, we've received almost all of our response cards back. Tomorrow is when we were hoping to have them returned so I'm hoping the rest will come in. We have to give the caterer a final head count soon. So we have to have the exact number. I'll cross my fingers and wait and see!

1 month 1 week left

WOW! Time is flying by! Only 1 month and 1 week left. That's 38 days!!! Not very long at all. We're so excited!!!

A lot has been going on. We found an apartment in Lancaster and Jeremiah's move-in date is August 15th. We've contacted the utility companies and set everything up for it all to be transferred into our names then as well. I've packed up pretty much everything that I don't need everyday (winter clothes, nicer dresses & most of my shoes, books, DVD's, ect) and I'll move that stuff into the apartment on August 15th also. Our goal is to be as settled in as we can be before the wedding, so once we get back from our honeymoon we won't have to move my stuff all in and unpack a bunch of boxes. We just want to come home and relax! Jeremiah decided on the suit he likes and he and the groomsmen just need to get fitted. The response cards have started coming back and my bridal shower is this Saturday! Now that will be a lot of fun! So it's been kind of busy, but so fun and exciting!

Our pre-marital class has been going great. This Thursday will be week 6. Only 2 more weeks and we're finished! I highly recommend it to any pre-marital or even newlywed couple. It's an awesome course and they talk about things that you never think even need to be talked about!! It's called "Prepare to Last."

Hope everyone is doing well and we look forward to seeing you all soon!!

Love,
C & J

58 days to go!

Jer and I have taken care of some major things this past week. It started with working on the invites. We looked over the sample invite they printed up and it looked great. It wasn't until they were finished and we picked them up and were looking at them that we realized there was a spelling error!!!! Everything was perfect... except that on the very last line instead of giving the address as: blah blah blah Descanso Drive, La Canada Flintridge, CA 91011 they put blah blah blah Descanso Drive, La CanDada Flintridge, CA 91011!!!! They added a 'D' to La Canada!! So we had to get a whole new batch made up!! The printer refused responsiblility since we looked over the sample and didn't catch the error before they printed the rest out! BUMMER! But we finally got them back and are having them addressed at the moment. We're hoping to send them out within the next few days. So thats pretty exciting for us!!

We received our toasting flutes in the mail yesterday and I picked up the cake cutting/serving set from the engravers and they both look amazing! We purchased the gifts for our parents this week and are still looking for the gifts for our wedding party. Yesterday Jer booked our hotel room for the first night at the Langham Hunington Hotel & Spa... The same place where he proposed! So that will be special =) We also decided on the apartment we like and have been approved so we have it all lined up for Jer to move in sometime in the first two weeks of August.

Between our regular work schedules, getting all that stuff taken care of for the wedding, doctors appointments our two hour pre-marital class every thursday night and the guided date we're supposed to go on sometime between classes, we are soooo tired! It also doesn't help that something is wrong with Jer's car, so it's been at the mechanic's since last Saturday morning and we're sharing my car! I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to the honeymoon! To have no work, no mile long to-do list and no saying goodbye to Jeremiah every night! Just a nice, relaxing vacation of sleeping in late, waking up next to Jer, getting massages, golfing, swimming in the sparkling pools and relaxing on the beaches of San Diego... Ahhh, like heaven!! =)

Engagement pictures

So today was SUCH a fun day! Jeremiah and I had our engagement photos taken. We met up with our photographer (Kerry Corcoran) at El Matador Beach in Malibu. It was so beautiful and we had the greatest time. Kerry made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and he really knew what he was doing. I'm confident that the pictures are going to come out better than we even expected! After the photo shoot Jer and I stayed at the beach and just walked around. Then we went to this little sushi place that was really yummy. It was just another great evening spent with the man of my dreams!

Pheeewww!

Well it has been a busy and HOTTTT past few days! Running around in 110 degree heat, buying my bridal jewelry (which I loooove!!) trying to find the perfect undergarments, buying my shoes, and things like that... It really wore me out!! I also need to find my veil. So I went down to the bridal shop where I bought my dress. I put on the sample dress they have in the store and started putting on veils. Luckily, I found one that I really liked. It looked beautiful with the dress! I said, "THIS is IT!! Ring it up!" As she wrote up the veil order and added up the total I almost passed out! This simple, white, piece of tulle with a few beads here and there was $260.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For a stinkin' VEIL!! I said "woah, woah, woah, woah, I don't think so..." And cancelled my order! I ended up going to the craft store and buying the tulle, the beads, and the headpiece to put it on, all for $18. Jeremiah's mommmy (who is a wizard with these crafty things) and I are going to make it ourselves! I looked up a few articles online about making veils and it's super simple... So I have confidence that it'll turn out great!

Today Jeremiah and I are searching for the toasting flutes and guest book, getting the cake cutter and server engraved, finding shirts to wear for our engagement pictures and finalizing the invitation wording. After all that we just have to order the cake, address and send out the invites, find the gifts for our attendants and parents and get Jeremiah's ring! So we're aaaalmost done!!
