So it's official! The great state of California has given Jeremiah and I the permission to get married! We have our marriage license!!
It was kind of a hassle, though. I applied online a few weeks ago through the county website. The next day Jeremiah and I went after work to pay and pick it up. Apparently we got in line 10 minutes too late so they said we had to come back! That meant we had to wait another 2 weeks for Jeremiah's next Friday off so we could be there in time. So, yesterday I got off work a bit early and we went down to the county recorder's office. We stood in line, got all the way up to the window and the lady couldn't find our online application in her system! Apparently they get erased every 2 weeks. So we had to go fill out another application and get back in line. Finally we get up to the window, turn in the application and pay. Once it was filed we had to wait over an hour for it to be ready. So we left and had some lunch, came back, got BACK in line and had to wait forrrrrever! FINALLY we got up to the window, the lady had us check the document to make sure there were no errors and we each signed it. Then she had us hold up our right hand and she made us swear that everything was true and blah blah blah. After that she presented us with our marriage license, told us what to do with it after the wedding and said "Congratulations!" THE END!!! =) =)

3 weeks and 4 days to go!
Hello!
It's been a while since I've last written, but so much has been going on! I had my bridal shower on July 26th and it was so much fun! It was a great turnout and we had a fabulous time! My Matron of honor- Bonnie Ferrell and Maid of honor- Patrice Shapiro, along with Patrice's two sisters- Rebecca Humphreys and Corryne Lee (basically my sisters!) planned the whole thing and did such an outstanding job. The food was so yummy, the games were creative and fun and the decorations were adorable! I loved it and totally felt like the bride! It was great =)
We ordered the cake this past Saturday. It was really fun tasting all the samples and designing it ourselves. We're just hoping it turns out as good in reality as it seems in our heads! We'll find out soon! Haha.
We also went shopping this past weekend for all of the move-in essentials. The cleaning producs, toilet paper, paper towels, air fresheners, matches, hand soaps, ziplock bags, bug spray, blah blah blah blah blah!! I couldn't believe that we ended up with 2 carts full of stuff!! And we haven't even started stocking up on food yet! I didn't realize how many things are essential in a home. It's crazy! But we had alot of fun and we got even more excited to move Jer in to the apartment on August 15th.
Carmen (from the bridal shop where I bought my wedding dress) called today... My dress has arrived!!! I can't even believe it! I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon for my first fitting. I'm sooooo ecstatic! I feel like I've been waiting forever to get my dress and it's finally here!! My wedding day attire is now complete. I have my undergarments, shoes, jewelry, the beautiful veil that Jeremiah's mom made for me and now my dress. It's really starting to sink in that I'm going to have the wedding I've always dreamed of and that it's my turn to be the bride! Yay!!
Anyways, we've received almost all of our response cards back. Tomorrow is when we were hoping to have them returned so I'm hoping the rest will come in. We have to give the caterer a final head count soon. So we have to have the exact number. I'll cross my fingers and wait and see!

1 month 1 week left
WOW! Time is flying by! Only 1 month and 1 week left. That's 38 days!!! Not very long at all. We're so excited!!!
A lot has been going on. We found an apartment in Lancaster and Jeremiah's move-in date is August 15th. We've contacted the utility companies and set everything up for it all to be transferred into our names then as well. I've packed up pretty much everything that I don't need everyday (winter clothes, nicer dresses & most of my shoes, books, DVD's, ect) and I'll move that stuff into the apartment on August 15th also. Our goal is to be as settled in as we can be before the wedding, so once we get back from our honeymoon we won't have to move my stuff all in and unpack a bunch of boxes. We just want to come home and relax! Jeremiah decided on the suit he likes and he and the groomsmen just need to get fitted. The response cards have started coming back and my bridal shower is this Saturday! Now that will be a lot of fun! So it's been kind of busy, but so fun and exciting!
Our pre-marital class has been going great. This Thursday will be week 6. Only 2 more weeks and we're finished! I highly recommend it to any pre-marital or even newlywed couple. It's an awesome course and they talk about things that you never think even need to be talked about!! It's called "Prepare to Last."
Hope everyone is doing well and we look forward to seeing you all soon!!
Love,
C & J

58 days to go!
Jer and I have taken care of some major things this past week. It started with working on the invites. We looked over the sample invite they printed up and it looked great. It wasn't until they were finished and we picked them up and were looking at them that we realized there was a spelling error!!!! Everything was perfect... except that on the very last line instead of giving the address as: blah blah blah Descanso Drive, La Canada Flintridge, CA 91011 they put blah blah blah Descanso Drive, La CanDada Flintridge, CA 91011!!!! They added a 'D' to La Canada!! So we had to get a whole new batch made up!! The printer refused responsiblility since we looked over the sample and didn't catch the error before they printed the rest out! BUMMER! But we finally got them back and are having them addressed at the moment. We're hoping to send them out within the next few days. So thats pretty exciting for us!!
We received our toasting flutes in the mail yesterday and I picked up the cake cutting/serving set from the engravers and they both look amazing! We purchased the gifts for our parents this week and are still looking for the gifts for our wedding party. Yesterday Jer booked our hotel room for the first night at the Langham Hunington Hotel & Spa... The same place where he proposed! So that will be special =) We also decided on the apartment we like and have been approved so we have it all lined up for Jer to move in sometime in the first two weeks of August.
Between our regular work schedules, getting all that stuff taken care of for the wedding, doctors appointments our two hour pre-marital class every thursday night and the guided date we're supposed to go on sometime between classes, we are soooo tired! It also doesn't help that something is wrong with Jer's car, so it's been at the mechanic's since last Saturday morning and we're sharing my car! I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to the honeymoon! To have no work, no mile long to-do list and no saying goodbye to Jeremiah every night! Just a nice, relaxing vacation of sleeping in late, waking up next to Jer, getting massages, golfing, swimming in the sparkling pools and relaxing on the beaches of San Diego... Ahhh, like heaven!! =)

Engagement pictures
So today was SUCH a fun day! Jeremiah and I had our engagement photos taken. We met up with our photographer (Kerry Corcoran) at El Matador Beach in Malibu. It was so beautiful and we had the greatest time. Kerry made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and he really knew what he was doing. I'm confident that the pictures are going to come out better than we even expected! After the photo shoot Jer and I stayed at the beach and just walked around. Then we went to this little sushi place that was really yummy. It was just another great evening spent with the man of my dreams!

Pheeewww!
Well it has been a busy and HOTTTT past few days! Running around in 110 degree heat, buying my bridal jewelry (which I loooove!!) trying to find the perfect undergarments, buying my shoes, and things like that... It really wore me out!! I also need to find my veil. So I went down to the bridal shop where I bought my dress. I put on the sample dress they have in the store and started putting on veils. Luckily, I found one that I really liked. It looked beautiful with the dress! I said, "THIS is IT!! Ring it up!" As she wrote up the veil order and added up the total I almost passed out! This simple, white, piece of tulle with a few beads here and there was $260.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For a stinkin' VEIL!! I said "woah, woah, woah, woah, I don't think so..." And cancelled my order! I ended up going to the craft store and buying the tulle, the beads, and the headpiece to put it on, all for $18. Jeremiah's mommmy (who is a wizard with these crafty things) and I are going to make it ourselves! I looked up a few articles online about making veils and it's super simple... So I have confidence that it'll turn out great!
Today Jeremiah and I are searching for the toasting flutes and guest book, getting the cake cutter and server engraved, finding shirts to wear for our engagement pictures and finalizing the invitation wording. After all that we just have to order the cake, address and send out the invites, find the gifts for our attendants and parents and get Jeremiah's ring! So we're aaaalmost done!!

Oh yea...
The countdown continues...
Hello, hello! Sorry I haven't blogged in a few weeks. Not much has been going on. But there's about 94 or so days left! Yippee! Jer and I are so excited!! Jer found the tux's he likes, most of my girls have ordered their dress and we've bought most of the reception and wedding accessories. My maid and matron of honor (Pat & Bon) are planning my bridal shower, which will be on July 26th and Jer and I are sending the invites out the end of next month. We're actually going down to the gardens tonight for a tasting with the caterer and we'll order the cake as well. Over all it's been very stress free! I can't complain!! =) =)
My birthday just passed (May 18th) and it was a pretty darn good one! As I was opening the cards that family and friends had mailed, I realized something... This is the last birthday I'll ever have as Cheryl Pacino!!! Thats so weird!!! And so so crazy!! But I cannot wait! I couldn't be asking for a better husband. Jeremiah is soo good to me! Attentive and caring and affectionate... Just incredible. We're totally looking forward to just living together! I know that sometimes I take this time in my life for granted, but when I stop and think about how special this all really is and what a huge change is coming I get so giddy on the inside and just thank God that he's blessed both Jeremiah and I so much. I love being engaged to Jer and I'm totally looking forward to becoming his wifey!!!!!!!!
Yay for getting married!! =)

3 months & 3 weeks from today...
So the wedding is quickly approaching, but Jer and I are just relaxing!! We've pretty much handled everything! We're still looking for the toasting flutes, ring bearer's pillow/flower girls basket & attendants gifts... But thats all easy stuff that isn't very pressing at the moment. Other than that everything is set and in place! It's weird, because I had prepared myself for crazy stress, yet it hasn't been that way at all! Jeremiah and I have just been enjoying eachother and this exciting time in our lives. Trying to soak it all in, because it's going to go by soooo fast! So basically there isn't anything new going on. Just hanging out.
Oh yea! If anyone knows of some nicer apartments in the AV let us know! Jer's going to move into our apartment a few weeks before the wedding, so we are starting to look here and there.

Such a nice feeling...
The wedding plans are almost finished!! Almost everything has been taken care of! We're so relieved! The only things left are: choosing/ordering the cake, deciding on a photographer and deciding on the bridesmaids dress which I'll be doing this afternoon! Other than that everything is taken care of!! (except for the last minute stuff like final dress alterations, getting the guests favors after we get all the RSVP's, paying the final payments on the venue, catering, flowers, cake, ect...) So we are both feeling very calm and enjoying the engagement!! It's so great!!

So satisfying =)
I have to admit that I feel pretty accomplished. Jeremiah and I put the deposit + half down on our venue, I put half down on my dress, we are finishing up talks with the caterer and about to draw up the contract and we are meeting with the florist on Monday. We spoke with the coordinator at the Gardens and she said we don't have to hire a live band, so that is a huge weight off our shoulders!! A huge cost, too! Haha. So now we're just looking for the cake, a photographer we like, the cake cutting/serving set, the flower girl's basket, the ring bearer's pillow and I need to find my bridesmaids dresses by Friday. It's all coming together so nicely!! It's been a lot of planning and work, but I'm having such a good time. I'm so lucky that Jer is so helpful and into all this, because I don't know how I'd do it by myself!!! But we're so excited!! We were standing on an aisle in JoAnn's Fabric & crafts store earlier today, looking at wedding invitations and things and it sunk in a little deeper what we were actually doing. We just got so filled with emotion and happiness!! We're planning the day that will cement our lives together forever. It's so beautiful to us. I swear I fall in love with that man more every day!! Anyways, I'll end my gushing and write more when new things pop up! Hope you're doing good! We love you all!!!

OUR WEDDING DAY!!!!
We have booked our venue!! It is all set! We'll be getting married August 30, 2008 at Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge. We'll have the ceremony in the rose garden and the reception in the rose pavillion. We are so excited!! Now that it's a summer wedding we're changing the colors and that means the dresses will be different and flower arrangements and pretty much everything!! Haha, but it's going to be so beautiful!! Jer and I are going to send out the save-the-date cards soon, but we need more addresses. Please email them to me @ capacino21@yahoo.com. Thanks!!

A much needed getaway!!!
Jeremiah and I had such a nice, relaxing weekend in San Diego. The planning has been CONSUMING our lives for over the past month so we figured it'd be nice toget away. We have some great friends (Dan & Alison) who live in La Mesa so we stayed with them. The weather was beautiful and we all just took it easy. It was great. Another big reason we went down there was to check out this thread show (like a trade show/fashion show) that was being held down there on Sunday. Dan and Jer are going to show their shirts and stuff in it once they've got some made. They were able to meet a couple of really cool people and get some contacts. They're so good at networking =). Overall, it was a productive and relaxing time! Now we're back and ready to get to planning!!

-Change of plans-
Okay, so last weekend Jer and I visited an absolutley amazing place called Descanso Gardens. It's so incredibly beautiful there... So beautiful that we've decided to change the wedding location!! The ceremony will be held in the rose garden and the reception will be held in the rose pavillion, but it's just a great place. Really breathtaking. Go ahead and check out the website if ya like! (www.descansogardens.org). It'll still be the beginning of Oct. Either the 11th or the 18th. This way we'll be able to have it on Saturday instead of a Friday, which I didn't want to do. It'll be a little more pricey and we'll have to have live music since a DJ or speakers aren't allowed, but it'll be so worth it. I can't wait!!!

UPDATE!!!
The first wedding purchase has been made!!! Last night I bought 300 feet of ivory tulle and my garter! I bought it from ebay, so I got it at wholesale prices which was nice... Jer and I are all about the discounts! We've scheduled our appointment with the florist for next month. She did the flowers for my Matron of Honors wedding last August and our great friends Brett & Beca's in September, so I know she does great work. I'm uber excited about that! I think that besides my dress, amazing flowers are one think we won't scrimp on. They set the whole mood and are one of the most importants parts of the wedding day. I've always dreamed of lush, beautiful centerpieces and bouquets... So be prepared! There will be lots of flowers!!
We're currently looking for the wedding cake and hoping a few of our friends feel confident enough to make it!! Jer and I simply hate the idea of spending $300 on one cake!! No matter how pretty it is!!
Other than that we are just enjoying being engaged and having a good time planning. I can't wait for the day we could FINALLY just go to sleep and wake up together, where we share a home. But we are loving the process and eachother and are enjoying the time we have left. We aren't focusing too much on the countdown, cause we know it's going to fly by! But we're very very excited. Life is good. I haven't really gotten stressed out yet, but I'm told I definitely will. So in the meantime I'm just trying to have some fun with it!
Stay tuned...

Dresses, Dresses, DRESSES!!!
Okay, so I'm 99% positive about what wedding dress I'm choosing, which is pretty exciting!!! And I have a pic of the bridesmaids dress for everyone to see. It looks kind of brown in the pic, but it's really a deep wine color. My Maid of Honor and Matron of Honor will have light cappuccino colored sashes and the rest of my bridesmaids will have a darker chocolate brown sash. I think this dress is awesome. It's going to look great on my ladies!! What do you think??

Wedding Dress/Bridesmaids Dresses
So today was the big shopping day! My Mom, Grandma, Patrice (Bridesmaid), Jer's Mom and sister's (Alyce and Alexis, both bridesmaids) went and took on the daunting task of finding my dress!! I tried on a bunch of dresses and found a few I really liked. Although I don't know if I've found "the one" yet... But the good news is that I found the bridesmaids dresses!! My 3 girls that were with me really liked it and I thought it was awesome so that's that! Nice to have one thing out of the way!! Overall it was a very successful day. We all went to Chili's and had lunch, my Mom and Grandma got to know Jer's Mom and Sis' (it was the first time they'd met). And it was just hunky-dory! haha.

Venue
So the search is on! There are a few venues that we are deciding between. One of our favorites (J.P. Eliopolous Hellenic Center) is booked every Saturday from now until the end of November, so we'd have to have our wedding on a Friday evening... I'm not sure how to feel about it though. I really like this place. It's beautiful and exactly the type of elegance I envisioned for my wedding day... But I don't want it to inconvenience our guests... Ahhh, decisions, decisions... Here are some pics. Let me know what you think!!!

WELCOME!!
Hello all! So I decided that the webpage I created on theknot.com wasn't going to suffice. Thats why Jer and I decided to start another one here! This way you'll be able to check in on the progress of our wedding plans, see recent pics and know "insider information" haha. Check back often as I'll update on a weekly basis... Hope you're all doing great! We love you!
